Creative Commons and open business - what's next?

20 April - 2009Henrik1

On april 14th Socialsquare hosted a meeting on Creative Commons and open business. Henrik Moltke presented various business models (Nine Inch Nails’ Ghosts I-IV , wiki-based books, Magnatune and the Tone / KODA collaboration in Denmark) and shared his personal experience with distributing – and monetizing – the documentary Good Copy Bad Copy freely. The slides are available in various formats here.

IT-lawyer Martin von Haller Grønbæk followed up with an introduction to open licensing. Towards the end, some participants expressed an interest in focusing more on the business side of free licensing, on more thorough analysis, metrics and context. We want to accomodate this discussion, and encourage you to get in contact with Henrik if you / your organisation want to be part of a follow-up workshop, seminar or meeting. Open business is a new phenomenon (especially in Denmark) and a fertile ground for experimentation. We, at Socialsquare, want to be a prominent part of it
